If you are looking for a business coaching programme or strategy workshop in Kenya, you already know something important: doing business alone, figuring everything out by yourself, is slower and more expensive than getting structured support.
The question is not whether coaching works. International Coaching Federation research consistently shows that business owners who work with structured coaching programmes outperform those who do not — in revenue growth, decision quality, and business confidence. The question is: what does a real coaching programme look like, and how do you choose the right one for where you are?
What a Real Business Coaching Programme Does
The word “coaching” in Kenya covers a wide spectrum. At one end, you have motivational speakers who give you a three-hour workshop, a certificate, and a feeling of inspiration that fades by Tuesday. At the other end, you have structured programmes with clear frameworks, accountability mechanisms, and specific, measurable outcomes.
A real business coaching programme does three things:
- Gives you a framework. Not advice. Not opinions. A repeatable structure for making decisions, solving problems, and building your business systematically. You should be able to apply the framework to your business immediately and keep using it long after the programme ends.
- Holds you accountable. Insight without implementation is just expensive entertainment. A real programme creates structures that ensure you actually execute: weekly check-ins, peer accountability, assignments, reviews. Without this, most people attend and do nothing different.
- Produces specific outcomes. Not “you will feel more confident” or “you will gain clarity.” Specific, tangible business outcomes: a defined target client, a sharpened offer, a documented sales process, a cashflow system, a growth strategy. Something you can measure.
If a programme cannot tell you specifically what your business will look like differently at the end of it, it is not a coaching programme. It is an event.
Three Questions to Ask Before Joining Any Programme in Kenya
Question 1: Does It Have a Clear, Proprietary Framework?
Generic advice is everywhere. What you are paying for in a coaching programme is a structured framework that has been tested, refined, and proven to work in your specific context — the Kenyan market, the African entrepreneur’s reality, the specific challenges of building a business here.
Ask the programme provider: what is your framework? Can you describe it? How does it work? If the answer is vague — “we help entrepreneurs build better businesses” — keep looking.
Question 2: What Are the Specific Outcomes for Someone at My Stage?
Different programmes are built for different stages of business. A programme for someone starting a business from scratch should deliver different outcomes than one for an established business owner trying to scale from KES 5M to 20M in annual revenue.
Be specific with the question. Not “what will I get?” but “what specifically will my business look like at the end of this programme, assuming I do the work?”
Question 3: Who Else Has Done It, and What Happened?
Case studies matter. Not testimonials that say “this changed my life” — specific stories of specific business owners, at a similar stage to you, who went through the programme and achieved specific results. If the provider cannot point to these, the programme is either too new to have evidence, or the evidence is not strong enough to share.
TAKEOFF vs CRUISE: Which Programme Is Right for You?
At Seasoned Preneur, we run two flagship programmes for entrepreneurs in Kenya, East Africa and across Africa. They are built for different stages of business, and choosing the wrong one at the wrong stage is a waste of time and money.
The TAKEOFF™ Programme: For Entrepreneurs Building the Foundation
TAKEOFF™ is for entrepreneurs who are in the first two years of their business, or who have been operating for longer but know that their foundation — their ICP, their offer, their positioning, their pricing — is not solid. It is also for 9-to-5 professionals who are planning to make the transition into entrepreneurship and want to do it with a proper foundation instead of guessing.
The programme walks you through 10 structured chapters, from defining your Ideal Client Profile to building your first real revenue model. Every chapter has a clear deliverable. By the end, you have a business blueprint — not a dream, a documented plan that you can execute.

The CRUISE™ Programme: For Established Businesses Ready to Scale
CRUISE™ is for business owners who already have a running business — clients, revenue, team — but who have hit a ceiling. Revenue is stuck, the founder is the bottleneck, or the business is growing but not profitably. CRUISE™ installs the systems that break you through: a marketing engine, a delivery system, and financial clarity at a growth level.
It is a 7-week programme, limited to 25 founders per cohort, and it is by application only. Not because we are being exclusive, but because the programme only works when everyone in the room is at roughly the same stage and genuinely committed to doing the work.

What Makes Seasoned Preneur Different from Other Business Coaching Programmes in Kenya
Kenya has business coaches, business advisors, and motivational speakers. Here is what makes Seasoned Preneur different — and why it matters to you as someone looking for a programme that actually moves your business forward.
1. Pan-African Context, Not Imported Theory
Our frameworks were built for and tested on African entrepreneurs — in Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa. The pricing dynamics, client behaviour, team realities, and cashflow pressures of a Kenyan business are not the same as those of a US or European business. The advice that works there does not always translate here. We know, because we have built and advised businesses across all three markets.
2. Frameworks, Not Opinions
Everything we teach is systematised: the TAKEOFF™ 10-Chapter Blueprint, the CRUISE™ 9-Pillar Growth System. These are not collections of opinions. They are structured frameworks that you can apply to your specific business and return to whenever you face a new challenge.
3. Outcomes, Not Events
You will not leave a Seasoned Preneur programme with a notebook full of notes and a feeling of inspiration that disappears in a week. You will leave with a documented strategy, a clear next 90 days, and the accountability structures to execute it. The goal is not the programme. The goal is what your business looks like six months after the programme.
How to Get Started
If you are not sure whether TAKEOFF™ or CRUISE™ is the right fit — or whether you need a programme at all, versus a one-off consultation — book a discovery call. It is a 60-minute conversation with a member of the Seasoned Preneur team where we will understand your business, where you are, and where you want to go — and then give you an honest recommendation on the right next step.
No pressure. No sales pitch. Just clarity on what your business actually needs.
